Our Mission
Get Schooled is a national non-profit organization dedicated to helping young people get to college, find first jobs, and succeed in both.
Our Story
Founded in 2010 through a strategic partnership between Paramount and The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Get Schooled has helped more than one million young people on their path to college and first jobs, targeting youth from low-income families, racial minorities, and first-generation college students.
No direct-to-youth education organization offers our combination of youth-first, research-backed resources; personalized support; recognition for progress; institutional partnerships; secure data management; and a proven track record of affecting the educational trajectory of thousands of youth.

Our Values
These values serve as our organizational touchstones. They underpin the why - and how - we work. When in doubt about how to proceed/engage, employees should look to these values for guidance.
We Put Youth First & Prioritize Black, Brown, & Immigrant Youth
We recognize that structural racism in America denies Black, Brown and Immigrant youth the systemic supports they need and deserve to thrive. This understanding drives our resolute commitment to be in service to, and prioritize Black, Brown, and Immigrant youth. We keep young people at the center of our work, always ensuring our time, talents, and resources are focused on helping them thrive, and challenging the conditions that create barriers to success.
We’re Curious and Are Always Learning
We consistently ask ourselves if our efforts are working, how we know, and if there are compelling alternative approaches. We support trying new strategies, making mistakes, and embracing professional development that pushes us, deepens our knowledge and/or skills, and makes us stronger. By being curious and having a learning mindset, we believe we’re better positioned to have a positive impact on youth.
We Strive to Produce High-Quality Work
We strive to produce high-quality content and supports that are accurate, youth-centered, research-based and culturally relevant. We prioritize quality over quantity, endeavor to be mindful of when to “go slow,” encourage questions, empower each other to politely say “no,” try to not let being perfect stand in the way of progress, and embrace a continuous improvement mindset.
We Value our Diversity & Individuality
We embrace bringing our whole selves to our work, and invite each team member to do so. We celebrate our diversity, seeing it as a powerful strength that better enables us to achieve our mission.
We Set Goals to Better Serve Youth & are Data-Driven
We set compelling individual and organizational goals that stretch us, in healthy ways, to make a significant impact so that more Black, Brown and Immigrant youth can thrive. We’re most accountable to youth, not our funders. When goal-setting, we include qualitative impact assessments and quantitative measures and look to youth feedback for guidance.
We Foster a Healthy Work Environment
We work daily to create a healthy work environment for all employees so that we can best achieve our mission together. To us, a healthy culture includes flexibility, balance, openness, positivity, joy, celebrations, collaboration, planning, and progress towards becoming an anti-racist organization. We build this culture through our daily actions - big and small, individual, and collective.

Partners & Supporters
We could not achieve positive results for young people without our partners. They help us learn, hold us accountable, and create significantly broader impact throughout the United States.
